Movie box office results for the Nov. 18-20 weekend (all amounts US$) plus IMDb trivia:

— Tenoch Huerta, the actor who plays Namor (aka the "Sub-Mariner"), boss of the underwater kingdom Talokan, didn't know how to swim before director Ryan Coogler offered him the gig. "I've never drowned before," 'Tenoch successfully argued. He promptly took swimming lessons to prepare for the role.

2. The Menu ($9.0M)

— The idea of diners being invited to a remote island by an eccentric famous chef came to co-screenwriter Will Tracy ("Succession") after a visit to Norway. He took a boat to a fancy restaurant on a private island and realized he was obliged to stay there until the meal was over.

— It's a TV series getting a theatrical release, but the crowd size screams blockbuster movie: nearly 12,000 extras from 36 countries came for the filming of the "Feeding of the 5,000" scene of Biblical lore.

4. Black Adam ($4.5M)

— An animated short called "Black Adam Precursor," featuring the voice of Dwayne Johnson as the title character he'd play in the 2022 live-action film, was released in the pandemic summer of 2020.

— This is not the first hit movie Julia Roberts has starred in with a plot about preventing a marriage. In 1997, she starred in "My Best Friend's Wedding," but the idea then was to rupture the nuptials of a pal, not a daughter. 🌓
