1. Smile ($22.0M)
— Colours signal emotions in this remake of the short horror film "Laura Hasn't Slept." The cursed "smile people" wear bright, pastel hues while therapist Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) wears dark, contrasting colours.
2. Don't Worry Darling ($7.3M)
— Director/co-star Olivia Wilde originally planned to play the lead role of Alice but cast Florence Pugh instead, after seeing her in the horror thriller "Midsommar." Wilde instead took the role of Bunny, Alice's best friend.
3. The Woman King ($7.0M)
— A drama inspired by real people, places and events, the film is based on the Kingdom of Dahomey, a West African realm from 1600 to 1940 located within present-day Benin. Europeans of the day knew it as a major supplier of slaves.
4. Bros ($4.8M)
